A couple of weeks ago, Kili Summit Club made local news when Grand Rapids’ WXMI-Fox 17 News did a beautifully edited piece on the club and why we created it. Titled “Mt. Kilimanjaro climb turns into chance to pay it forward”, the piece focuses on Vern Jones and his idea for the club after not being able to find sufficient “Bragging Gear” upon returning from our incredible experience. You can watch it here.

After working with some highly talented designers, we created our own clothing line of men’s and women’s apparel, koozies, hats, window stickers and an exclusive members patch. A portion of every qualified sale will be given directly to the referring guide, and all profits will be given back to the guides and porters of Kilimanjaro by way of a clothing distribution fund and an emergency fund for those porters injured while on the mountain.

Our success depends on climbers like you who contact their guide to register on our website at www.kilisummitclub.com, and the Kilimanjaro Guide Association to facilitate the transaction and spread the word over in Tanzania. Once your guide has been confirmed in our system, his name can be chosen from a drop-down menu at check-out, and he will receive a commission based on all qualifying orders.

Commissions are as follows (in USD):

Orders over $150 = $15
Orders over $250 = $25
Orders over $500 = $50
Orders over $1000 = $150

Please be sure to register your climb and then contact your guide to encourage him to register as well. Together we can make a real difference in the lives of the wonderful young men of Kilimanjaro!

Asante sana!
